RA (Right Ascension)<\/a> \u2013 the distance of a point east of the First Point of Aries, measured along the celestial equator and expressed in hours, minutes, and seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dec (Declination)<\/a> \u2013 the angular distance of a point north or south of the celestial equator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Azimuth<\/a> \u2013 the direction of a celestial object from the observer, expressed as the angular distance from the north or south point of the horizon to the point at which a vertical circle passing through the object intersects the horizon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altitude<\/a> \u2013 the distance measurement, usually in the vertical or \u201cup\u201d direction, between a reference datum and a point or object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local Hour Angle (LHA)<\/a> \u2013 it is the angle between the meridian of the observer and the meridian of the object you are pointing at.  This can be used to tell how far the object is before or after the meridian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
